Our History
2015
The idea for Jetsetter Jobs was shaped out of our founders frustration. Olam Sule desperately wanted to find work in Brazil during the 2014 Football World Cup. He wanted to live in Rio de Janeiro, learn Portuguese and still have enough money to experience as much as possible.
In search of employment he applied for volunteering roles, hostel jobs and other forms of temporary work from his home in the UK. It was surprisingly difficult to find any opportunities and a few that were available, charged applicants a high fee. Luckily, after a few months of researching and sending out applications he managed to get a hostel exchange job in Rio! Living in Brazil was an amazing experience! He met amazing people, many who are now friends from all over the world and working with locals meant he actually got to see the real culture and traditions of the country. Picking up the language came easier too. He was able to save money on accommodation and meals and this helped him to afford to see some World Cup games and to travel for a month around the country!
Although the initial struggle to find work abroad was difficult, it was definitely worth it for a once in a life-time trip. With the power of modern technology, it should be easier for travelers to find jobs abroad and we are striving to make this happen.
2017
Jetsetter Jobs was purchased by Marc Stephenson in November 2017. Marc is an avid traveler and has worked in many countries in various fields such as Information Technology, Book metadata for publishers and distributors, and Aviation. Travel is an important part of his life and career, making Jetsetter Jobs a natural fit. Jetsetter Jobs is now a web property of AppLite, LLC, which is founded and led by Marc.
