A quick guide to arriving in Fiji
When arriving in Fiji you are likely to be picked up by the airport and greeted with flowers and the infamous ‘Bula’ song (meaning hello in Fijian)
Do I need a Visa?
British citizens do not require a visa, however if you reside in another country please check the fijian embassy.
Where can I get money when I arrived?
Before you venture out to Fiji make sure you have some Fijian money. The cash points often run out and you will be unable to access any cash on the islands. Credit and debit cards may also not be accepted depending on what island you’re on. Take money out at Nadi airport to be on the safe side.
Where should I stay in Nadi ?
Book into Bamboo Backpackers or Travelers Beach Resort, both costing £12 a night for a dorm room. Both hostels are located on the beach with a host of activities, from night time fire spinning with the locals to chilled cocktails on the beach. This is a great option if you’re intending to go island island.
Can you drink the water in Fiji?
Technically yes, if you ask the Fijian government. However, locals will tell different, supposedly its an ‘acquired taste’… Steer clear and stick to bottled water.
