Travel Tips
Work permits and visas
You always need to check the visa requirements of your travel destination. This varies with different nationalities and the country you are visiting so do your research online. The country you are visiting may also require a work permit. It is possible for many of you to obtain a working holiday visa to work while you travel and more information can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Working_holiday_visa
Although we would like to, we do not help you out with this and it is your responsibility to make sure you have the correct documents when entering a country. If you have any doubts, please contact your foreign embassy for more information.
Insurance
Make sure you get comprehensive travel and medical insurance before setting off. Shop around and make sure that your insurance is right for you. Think about any activities you may be doing, even spur of moment ones, and make sure you’re covered for these. Your policy also needs to cover any medical costs because if you do not take out proper insurance, you will have to pay the costs of any emergency yourself, including expensive medical bills.
Is the country I am travelling to safe?
Every destination is very different when looking at safety. You can do a lot of research from home to find out the latest news on any given place. Please also check with your local Embassy to the gain additional travel tips and advice they offer on destinations worldwide. Click here for worldwide safety warnings.
Be clear about arrangements
It is very important that any arrangements are clear from the outset. Both employers and jetsetters should make sure the terms of employment are arranged in advance. We recommend significant communication, (skype/calls) if you are unable to meet face to face.
